The Sauna Area
Experience a variety of saunas
Bi-O-Bad Sauna
Our Bi-o bathroom is made of solid wood.
Unlike a sauna, the Bi-o bath is a warm, humid air bath. It is enjoyed at a temperature of approximately 50–60 °C and a relative humidity of around 30–40 per cent.
Relax in the warm, humid air bath and let the medicinal herbs work their magic on your body. Different medicinal herbs are associated with different therapeutic properties.
After your session in the Bi-o Bad, don’t shock your body with cold water. Remember that your body temperature isn’t as high as it is after a sauna. Have a shower at a comfortable temperature and take a foot bath.
- red – stimulates the heart and circulation, helps with circulatory problems
- yellow – stimulates the liver, gallbladder and pancreas; strengthens the nerves
- green – affects the bronchi and lungs, relieves pain
- blue – is associated with the stomach and intestines, helps with insomnia
- Colours exert their psychological influence via the eyes. From there, colour radiation is transmitted to the brain through a series of complex processes, where it exerts its effect in the form of specific mental images and energies.
- The nervous system’s response to colour stimulates the body’s defences. Depending on the colour, specific bodily systems are targeted and activated.
- Physical absorption occurs mainly through the skin, either through direct exposure to coloured radiation or through contact with coloured clothing.
- Chemical absorption takes place in the gastrointestinal tract when consuming a varied diet comprising foods of all colours.
Log cabin sauna
Comfortable heat in the driest air: our log cabin sauna reaches temperatures of around 90 °C without the need for any infusions.
The log cabin sauna has a special history: it originally comes from Scandinavia. It was not until 1994 that this rustic solid log cabin was imported from Sweden and erected here at sehusa wasserwelt. The charming cabin blends in perfectly with our lovely sauna garden.
Steam bath
Unlike a sauna, a steam bath is a warm, humid air bath. It is taken at a temperature of around 45 °C and a relative humidity of around 100 per cent.
The Finnish Sauna
The Finnish sauna, also known as a timber sauna, is a cosy classic, as it is the most common type of sauna in Germany. The Finnish sauna at Sehusa Wasserwelt was built in 2001 using solid log planks made from softwood.
In our Finnish sauna, you can expect dry heat: around 90 to 100 °C with a humidity level of only about 10 per cent. A stone stove radiates heat, which is reflected by the walls and ceiling. The humidity is temporarily increased by special infusions and aromatic infusions.
Maa®-Sauna
The Maa® sauna is constructed with meticulous craftsmanship from round pine logs 25 to 30 cm thick. These rest on a base recessed into the ground, which is bricked up with rubble stones.
Inside the Maa® sauna, there are two benches on either side of the entrance. At the back stands the stone-filled stove, in which a fire flickers constantly. Its warm glow creates an unrivalled sauna atmosphere.
With temperatures of up to 120 °C, the atmosphere in this ‘earth sauna’ is surprisingly pleasant and mild.
Sauna connoisseurs will have to acknowledge that, whilst Maa® saunas stem from an extremely simple, primordial form of sauna culture, they meet the very highest standards in terms of their fittings and facilities.
Sauna garden with a pool and sun deck
Since December 2010, our sauna garden has been available to our sauna guests, featuring the following new additions:
- covered sun deck
- exclusive sauna pool with sun deck
- additional sunbathing area

Naturally, the new, extended sauna garden is also separated from the rest of the Sehusa Wasserwelt outdoor facilities by a privacy fence.
